Eric Martinet Exhibition
The Château d'Ouchy and Murs Porteurs are pleased to present the exhibition of the artist Eric Martinet.
"The mountain can be threatening and yet it reassures me...I like to be there to find myself.”
Eric Martinet, October 2021
Eric Martinet was born in 1962 in Vallorbe. He works and lives in Lausanne. He has exhibited in numerous museums and is part of many private and public collections. The mountain is a theme that is dear to him, his powerful and colourful paintings are recognisable by the coulures that make up his signature. They are born of two fundamental elements in his life: his need for the open air, even the great outdoors, and his drawing books. In them he draws everything that moves him and touches him. They constitute the basis (one could speak of a base camp if one wanted to remain faithful to a lexicon inherited from the world of the mountain) allowing multiple forms of interpretation leading to paintings overflowing with colour and light. It is by bike, on foot or on skis that, during his various escapades, with a sketchbook in his pocket or hidden in a backpack, he strives to gain height.
This exhibition can be seen in the Château d'Ouchy until May 2022.
It is commissioned by Murs Porteurs / www.mursporteurs.ch
